Lindros to Flyers: F-Off

Well it looks like we’re finally starting to get some hockey news as training camp approaches. This was my favorite story to come out of the Labor Day weekend rounds. On September 27th, The Philadelphia Flyers were going to be having a touchy-feely commemorative ceremony that would assemble all 15 captains that have lead the Flyers since the birth of the franchise.

But guess who’s busy combing his hair that night….

While Clarke, Lou Angotti, Mel Bridgman, Dave Poulin, Ed Van Impe, Bill Barber, Ron Sutter and Kevin Primeau have confirmed their attendance, Lindros has declined because of a previous commitment according to senior vice president of business operations…

Good ol, Eric Lindros is not missing this opportunity to flip the bird one last time to then GM Bobby Clark. Probably for the best that he’s not there, though. Having him around would’ve made it awkward for everybody - Like the time I had the guys over for poker night and one of my buddies came out of the bathroom after, like, 45 minutes and sheepishly asked, “Do you know if there’s a product out there that’s like a ‘tampon-like-thingy’ for dudes?” After a long silence we all agreed that he should go home and call a doctor — Or at least just go home.

…Yeah, having Lindros around would be just like that.
