Dog Days of Summer: August 26

I know!

Ok, this is getting a little desperate. Here’s a quick round-up of a few “stories” that may or may not have something to do with hockey.

Lazy Vancouver Canuck Fans Rejoice: Looks like GM Place will soon have an ordering systemavailable to fans no matter where they’re sitting in the arena. All you’ll need is a PDA and a hankering for nachos with “cheese”.

Vinnie Ready for the “C” — Again: Ok, maybe he’s more mature, or better equipped to handle the rigors(?) of the captaincy, but it looks like the Tampa Bay Lightning are set to give Vinnie Lecavalier the captain’s “C” again. Last time around, he lost it to Dave Andreychuk. Kind of like Lando losing the Millennium Falcon to Han only to get it back again in time for a suicide run on the second Death Star. (Hmmm… Andreychuk… HANdreychuk… Just sayin’.)

Stanley’s Tour Continues: We’ve done a great job of ignoring the travel blog of the Stanley Cup thus far, and you can go read this entry from Vetlanda, Sweden to know why. It really doesn’t get more boring than this, folks. Although, it is worth checking out to see this guy tuning Johan Franzen’s guitar. I’m thinking this photo was taken either A) moments after the unveiling of the Red Wings new team uniform (I could get used to it); or B) moments before a duet of electric guitar and skin flute.

And lastly, above is a photo of Luli Fernandez. Rumor has it that she may have once watched half a period of hockey.
