Screw It! Burke to Toronto

Ok, when respectable hockey news outlets, such as The Hockey News, start reporting that Burke will end up in Toronto, you have to start asking yourself one thing: When did THN drink the Kool-Aid?
THN covering the story that Will. Not. Die.
Every executive I’ve spoken to over the past month says they’re convinced the Anaheim Ducks will at some point this summer free Burke from his obligations and allow him to join the Leafs… Burke still hasn’t signed his contract extension and apparently has no intention of doing so. The thinking is that rather than having a lame-duck GM hanging around who clearly doesn’t want to be there, the Ducks will finally tell Burke if he wants to go to Toronto that badly, then he’d best be on his way.
You know what? Fuck it! I’m embracing this one, too. The way I see it Burke + Maple Leafs = Guaranteed High Jinks.

Awww… Let’s hope this doesn’t come true, as there has to be a far less suitable candidate to take over the Laffs management… Seriously, they should go the Tampa route and get someone who hasn’t been in the game for over a dozen years… Or someone with ZERO experience and/or skill. How else will we fill the sports media pages?
