Patrick Roy is a Great Dad

In case you missed it, this here video captures that magic moment when a father does a son proud. By turning into a raging, spoiled, out-of-control, ape-shit psycho. Like father, like son. Jonathan Roy is Patrick Roy’s son… also a goalie. It just so happens that Roy coaches his son on the Quebec Remparts (which Roy owns, btw).

So Quebec is getting their asses handed to them 7-1 when an all-out brawl breaks out. Goalies usually keep their noses clean in instances like this, but not little Johnny. Roy proceeds to whale on the opposing netminder for having the audacity to lean on his net and mind his own business. Once his opponent is curled up into a ball, Jonathan waves to the crowd in triumph. With two fingers held aloft.

I honestly don’t know how a father could be more proud. These gentlemen epitomize class and respect. This little kid has NHL written all over him. Sakic, Iginla: move over. There’s a new kid in town.

Where’s Mike Vernon when you need him? Hope he has a son in this league that does to Jonathan what Mike did to Patty back in the 90’s…
