Emery is Sleepy
Email This Post
Ya, I like to sleep in. A lot.
In fact, I’m late almost everywhere I go. Not too much, a few minutes here and there.
And at times, I’ve been confronted about this problem by my bosses. And by “confronted” I mean summarily fired.
But I would like to think that if my job paid me $3.17 million a year, I might find the motivation to, you know, wake the fuck up. Especially if my job is something I’ve been training to do my entire life.
TSN reports:
Emery showed up four minutes after the team took the ice for a 4pm skate.
Emery maintains he was late because he thought the practice was at the Nassau Coliseum, not the Islanders’ practice facility.
Paddock has stated in the past that he likes his team to be at their practice facilities an hour before they hit the ice. For the second time this season Emery did not show up early enough for his coach’s satisfaction.
Ray Emery has always been a marginal/lucky goalie according to Puck That Hit. But his attitude since the start of the season has definitely earned him the title of whiny little bitch. His poor play combined with Gerber’s surprisingly good play has caused him to be demoted to #2 goalie. Getting into scraps with elderly drivers (last year’s playoffs) and taking on Brian McGrattan are just some of the techniques Emery uses to work through his motivation problems.
I think it’s about time the Sens GM confronts him and kicks his lazy ass to the curb.
UPDATE: Looks like Emery was fined and suspended. Or not suspended depending which news outlet read.
